Meet the Founders
Scott Martin & Roy Long
Checkpoint 221 was founded by longtime friends, Scott Martin and Roy Long. Since they each have families of their own, their vision was to create a space in the community where families could gather and enjoy a variety of different food and live entertainment.

Scott and Roy also wanted to build a business that their kids could be apart of while also contributing to the community. From this vision, Checkpoint 221 was born.
Scott and his wife Heather have four children between the ages of 8 and 22. Roy and his wife Gabrielle have four children between the ages of 9 and 22. Both families reside in Salem, Oregon and are passionate about creating a better community for current and future generations.

Checkpoint 221 is West Salem’s newest food truck pavilion and community event center, located in the heart of West Salem’s expansion.

why a food truck pavilion?
At Checkpoint 221, we built the food cart pod with a clear understanding of the challenges faced by families when it comes to what’s on the menu. We recognize that eaters can be picky, with taste preferences constantly evolving as we grow. We saw a need to create a community space that caters to these changing tastebuds while also serving as a gathering place for families. The food cart pod provides a diverse range of culinary options, offering a variety of cuisines from around the world.
We believe that by filling this community need, we can foster a sense of adventure and exploration in young eaters while creating a space for the community to come together and create lasting memories.
